Bio

Payton is a senior at UNC Chapel Hill majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Biology. On campus, Payton is involved with Edible Campus, sustainable campus gardens growing edible plants free for students to use, and is the President of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. Payton is passionate about implementation of renewable energy sources into the grid, access to environmental education and justice resources in underserved communities, sustainable agriculture exercises, and green building practices. She is excited to expand her community outreach and develop interdisciplinary connections through NC Conservation Network. Payton is from Charlotte, NC and enjoys hiking, playing with her dog Indigo, going on runs through campus, and crocheting.
