Information
We are excited to announce our theme for CCA’s 2025 Symposium, From Allied Passion to Organized Power.
About the Symposium
To engage the challenges of our time, CCA’s 2025 Annual Symposium will focus on how we can begin to expand our prior work by organizing together to build solidarity and power. Beyond offering us the chance to fellowship with one another and celebrate our work this past year, the symposium will:
- Define what the difference between mobilizing and organizing is as well as why we need to organize in today’s context.
- Describe what organizing networks do and ideate on what we could do were we to begin to organize within our network and our communities.
- Workshop some of the tools we need to learn to begin to build power together through community organizing.
Our Symposium will be led this year by two faculty from The Black Mountain School of Theology & Community, Dr. Timothy Conder and Dr. Daniel Rhodes. With over 30 years of organizing experience, 40 years of ministry experience, and academic and community research that spans theology and social movements, Conder and Rhodes will offer training to help us learn how to begin to build a people’s organization aimed at protecting our shared spaces and working for a sustainable future.
Lunch and snacks are included in registration.
