Everyone deserves to live in a healthy community without having to think twice about whether the air and water are safe and clean. But Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company (Transco) is planning a massive project called the Southeast Supply Enhancement Project that could put these basic rights at risk.
Transco has announced plans to build a 54-mile methane gas pipeline and expand polluting compressor stations in Virginia and North Carolina. Gas from this pipeline would serve areas outside of Davidson County, and Transco admitted that impacted communities would bear the risks of the project while seeing few benefits.
