Community-based equity work
We stand with communities that have been historically impacted by inequities and environmental injustices, and are working to support these communities in their fight for a more equitable future. NC Conservation Network strives to work in collaboration with these communities to do the following:
- elevate their concerns;
- support policies and actions that address those concerns; and
- improve public health and the environment for the residents.
Our programs
NC Conservation Network works to advance equity in the following ways: 1) working on-the-ground with communities to create change; and 2) convening a select group of community leaders (the Environmental Justice Community Connector Initiative) representing key issues and areas of the state, and serving as voices and advisors.
