The Membership and Fundraising Manager is responsible for managing our existing membership database, increasing membership, conducting outreach to lapsed members, and cultivating relationships with major donors and other sponsors. This role will include creating a development plan focused on diversified fundings and increasing community engagement, with a focus on growing and sustaining organizational membership.

Responsibilities

  • Donor Relations and Data Management in Salesforce database
  • Manage constituent and donation entries to ensure consistency, prompt acknowledgment/reporting ability, and accuracy in all records including grant awards
  • Plan and coordinate special initiatives for members and major donors
  • Assist in fundraising events
  • Conduct outreach in regions of the Haw River watershed to increase membership representation
  • Cultivate relationships with major donors
  • Increase and track business sponsorships and organizational partnerships
  • Plan and execute annual membership drives and end of year giving appeals
  • Assist development team with stewardship of donors in all sectors.
  • Develop program for receiving bequests and manage database for bequest donations
  • Assist Executive Director in grant tracking and reporting, managing grants calendar, tracking application and reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency in Salesforce database software
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum of 2 year verifiable experience in donor database and or customer relationship management software
  • Drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain donor relationships on behalf of the agency
  • Demonstration of professionalism in all aspects of work; ability to set priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work daytime, some weekend and evening hours, not to exceed a 20 hour per week average over the course of a month

Salary/Benefits

This position is a 20 hour per week position paid at $30 per hour. Mileage will be reimbursed at the federal rate. Haw River Assembly offers a health stipend for part-time employees of $100 per month.
