Your Gifts in Action
Your generous donations have helped the NC Conservation Network protect North Carolina's air, water and quality of life. For example, in May we hosted Clean Water Lobby Day at the NC General Assembly and brought in more than 150 people to lobby for clean water (the Wake County team is pictured at left). We helped to organize in-person constiuent visits with more than half of the members of the General Assembly.
Your support has also helped us to build a strong and effective Public Alert network. Since its start, the Public Alert network helped to:
- secure resources for flood relief and floodplain mapping in western North Carolina;
- begin to address global warming by passing legislation for form a study committee on the issue; and
- pass the Drinking Water Reservoir Protection Act, a key piece of clean water legislation that will protect Noth Carolina's 160 drinking water lakes.
