Issues

North Carolina is blessed with a rich and diverse environment. From the mountains to the sea, that environment faces a wide array of threats to air quality, water quality, and the health of urban and rural residents and landscapes. In collaboration with our affiliates, the North Carolina Conservation Network works through legislative advocacy and grassroots action to protect North Carolina's human and natural environments. We monitor the progress of legislation at the NC General Assembly, coordinate lobbying activity with environmental lobbyists, and track rulemaking at the various regulatory commissions, such as the Environmental Management Commission. We join our affiliate organizations in coalition campaigns, and work to strengthen their capacity to win.
